A WORKING-CLASS LIFE

I know exactly how hard it is to make ends meet in our state right now. I work full-time, and I run a side-business doing floral preservation just to help keep up with the bills. My fiancé is a lifelong Vermonter who has worked his shift at the agricultural food producer in Swanton for 30 years.

Raising two daughters, ages 18 and 5, I've lived the challenges of finding affordable childcare and stretching a paycheck. I’ve sat at my kitchen table and panicked over the price of heating fuel. I am open and honest about the fact that there were times when my family had to rely on HEAP, WIC, food stamps, and our local food shelves just to survive.

There is zero shame in needing a hand up when times are tough. The real shame is that the politicians in Montpelier keep passing policies that make it harder for working families to keep their heads above water.

When we aren't working, our family is living the rural Vermont lifestyle we cherish. You will usually find us outdoors: hunting, fishing, or out on the ice around Lake Champlain. I know how important these traditions are to Franklin County, and I will be a fierce defender of our sportsmen, our farmers, and our land.

WHY I'M RUNNING

Too many legislators don't know what it’s like to work a 30-year manufacturing shift or skip buying groceries so you can afford to put gas in the car to get to work.

I’m running for State Representative because the working families of Swanton and Sheldon deserve a voice in Montpelier who actually understands the cost of living. I’m ready to fight to lower our property taxes, expand childcare so moms can get back into the workforce, and protect the blue-collar jobs that keep our communities alive.
